Rothenburg ob der Tauber

So we are back. Although Benedikt did a 48 hour turn around and is now back in Europe: Budapest for 5 days for a conference and then Germany for 5 days for jolling and shopping. Uh, I mean meetings and stuff. Its the fist time I've been left alone since we moved here and its kinda weird. Although I do have a full social calendar lined up: a tea party for my friends today, 2 birthday parties, 1 dinner invite, 1 movie invite and a kiddies party! So I think I'll be fine. Cecil just mustn't come!
So our holiday was fantastic. Totally relaxing (for me) and totally fruitful (for me). Benedikt bought me an oh so bling Fossil watch for my birthday which I love. We shopped up a storm in Munich, Ikea (which I was AMAZED by!), Baby Welt and at Addidas (of course) and I managed to come away with loads of stuff. Benedikt noffink! Well he is bringing home a kite for himself this next trip so we're equal!

We went to both Benedikts Granny's birthday do's within the first 3 days of being in Germany. They are quite organised the way their birthdays are so close together. And they live in the same town. And they are good friends. Very handy indeed. The Grannies are both very excited for their great grandson on the way and showered me with attention and baby goodies! It was very cool being with Benedikt's family cousins and aunts and sister and parents again - I'd met them all at Nina's wedding last year and got on well with them there too. They are all very welcoming and kind to me and gave us lots of baby attention! It is afterall the first baby out of all benedikts cousins. The first Granny's tea party reminded me so much of our Granny it made me quite sentimental and emotional. The way the proper china comes out and the tea and cakes that are served and the old person kinda flowery furniture story. Its all so familiar!
I miss our Granny. I wish she could have seen her first great grandson too.
